When I first laid eyes on the piece that had to come home with me, I had a visceral response and felt as though I was taking a trip into my past. Jana had composed 3 Colorado Springs scenes as a trio. These were of the Navaho Hogan, Herman’s Plumbing, and the art deco Garage at North Corona and Columbia. Jana is a very supportive, encouraging, and knowledgeable teacher. Her teaching style quieted my fears and emboldened me to make art my way, intuitively. Her extensive knowledge and experience in color theory and watercolor technique helped me develop skills I haven't learned in college art class.
